What careers are available for an English degree?

I am going to college for a degree in English. Hopefully, I will be a successful novelist. But there is always the possibility that I will need a fall back plan if becoming an author does not work out as planned. I know there are plenty of good solid careers for someone with an English degree. I just don't know what they all are! Can you please list some, and perhaps what is done in that position? I don't mind being in an office setting, I actually like the idea of being behind a desk for my career.
