In love with a close guy friend? Should I break the friendship?

We've been great friends for 3 years & kept in touch even though he moved to another country. He always flirted, told me I'm hot, intelligent etc. Two years ago we met up & even kissed but I had to return home. Then he reuinited with his ex girl & they've been together since..he told me he wants to marry her, except split a few weeks ago & he came to see me & stayed a week. I made sure nothing happened as I felt he was rebounding & to be honest, could feel the tension & the attachment. This morning, a bombshell! He called & told me, he's moving to be with his girl, they made it up and he is delighted. He said so I suppose I'll see you when you visit here (his country) or otherwise I'll come see you. I told him, 'no, I don't keep close friendships with married guys'. After the call I burst out crying. He still writes to me & we met once as friends. Should I tell him? Should I write and break the contact with him?
