If you are talking about depression, constructive action good diet and exercise are your best alternatives. Constructive action rids you of low self esteem. Exercise produces endorphins and also helps self esteem as you see yourself improving on a daily basis. Good diet is key to energy and keeps you from overeating. Self discipline of a good diet helps with self esteem. Now, that said, if you are hearing voices or seeing things that aren't there or have homicidal, or suicidal thoughts, you need professional help.
