Ablutions okay to nullify menses?

I am a recent convert to Islam, and I wish to make love to my wife but it is her moon-time. I know that this if forbidden, but is there an ablution I may perform to make this not a bad thing? I have tasted her menses before we were Muslim, does this make the ablution easier?
