Upset about baby and television.?

I think 30 minutes TV a day is fine as long as it's interactive. Toys from the TV are fine too as long as you don't buy everything your child wants because that's just spoiling them. I think it's a bit mean to not buy them a certain toy just because it's advertised on telly or a character from a tv programme. Your heart is in the right place but I bet this time next year you will think differently when you see how much joy your then toddler gets from these programmes.
