You didn't like the book, that makes this difficult. Elaborate on the poverty and how she handles it, her relationship with her sisters and her mother, and her coming of age (this is a story about a young woman's coming of age as well). Is there any part that you enjoyed, that caught your attention? If so, try to incorporate that.
