Erwin Rommel has long been seen as a great General/Field Marshall and a good man no?

Before you judge so harshly you need to go to the library and read about German social history from 1918 through to 1939. You might find it really interesting. The whole situation was far from clear cut. another quite interesting subject is the history of, and effects of gypsies within Europe. IE: child stealing to order as slaves for land owners etc etc. To really get a handle on the whole thing you need to forget the period you live in, and take your self back to what was happening then. Perhaps look at the example the British were setting around the world. The m executions carried out by the French in the middle east. The horrendous slaughters of innocents during the Spanish civil war, and the m graves still being uncovered to this day......Germany ,I think, unfairly took the blame for all the brutality within the European sphere during that period. The Russians actually executed Far more jews than the Germans did. The trouble is that people have become blinkered as to who Supposedly committed all the horrendous crimes against humanity, when the truth is, that the rest of Europe used Germany to cleanse them selves and start afresh. ( that's my honest opinion)
